What's in a Name!

What's in a name? Well, a name define who you are, and what you are. A name could mean a lot of things; for example, a flower, a season, or random words put together. To others, a name is like their entire identity. But to some, it means nothing at all, just a word that is known by others and how others recognize them.

What my name means, from the origin, my name is actually a female name. It's technically a unisex name now. But the meaning of the name Trinh means, "virgin" in Vietnamese. It's also pronounced "djin." I had asked my parents where they came up with my name. The answer I got was basically "We just named you this name." So there's not much history in my first name. My last name "Nguyen" doesn't mean anything at all. It was part of a royal family name long ago. People actually had a war named then Trinh - Nguyen war long ago as well. It started from 1627 to 1673. Then signed a 100 year peace treaty and around 1774, the treaty broke and they had another war all over again.

My name doesn't mean much in general. But the history between the Trinh and Nguyen was one epic battle. I believe that there's always a story behind your name and I got to know my name's past history. I'm pretty happy and completely weirded out that my name had a war with each other 400 years ago.
